Die Lange Nacht Der Kirchen…. Celebrating Freedom Through Song: Sing it strong and clear.......Sing it for freedom! My great family, the Trapp Family Singers, were artists empowered by the gift of music. For two decades they traveled the world, performing with dignified strength and conviction, sharing their message of freedom, hope and love through harmony and song. Through their example I learned to dedicate my life to finding the creative spirit within myself and free expression through song. I believe songs hold a promise for mankind, to quicken our spirits, inspiring us to be renewed within and so liberated that we can obtain the fulness of our life experience. On this long night of music, let our songs be sung loud and long with strength and clarity, joyfully celebrating our freedoms, that our blended voices send out a powerfully hopeful message, resounding beyond Salzburg’s city walls, to the ends of the earth and beyond.
